BlockMint (BKMT) has created an NFT digital art portfolio and upgraded its Minter browser for NFT trading.

A non-fungible token is a unit of data on a blockchain where each NFT can represent a unique digital item. NFTs can represent digital files such as art, audio, video and other forms of creative work.

While the digital files themselves are infinitely reproducible, the NFTs representing them are tracked on their underlying blockchains and provide buyers with proof of ownership.  Starting late April 2021, Minter browser users will be able to exchange cryptocurrency for fractional ownership of non-fungible token digital images.

In support of this new Minter feature, BlockMint will create and/or purchase a portfolio of NFT digital images to offer investors exposure to this dynamic and developing market.

Once released, the upgraded Minter browser will also allow users to use their spare computing power to mine cryptocurrencies to earn either carbon credits or fractional interests in NFT images.

The browser has a user-friendly, built-in dashboard where users can control the amount of computing power that will be used for mining.

Users bear all mining costs and BlockMint will earn a margin on purchases of either carbon credits or fractional NFT images.

BlockMint’s CEO, Nelson Ijih, commented,

“We designed Minter with the underlying philosophy that everyone should be able to participate in the crypto-economy. This new NFT feature will allow users to also participate in the exploding demand for NFT digital images and art. Users will be able to choose to either reduce their carbon footprint or participate in the rapidly emerging market for NFT images.”

The new version of Minter will initially be available for download on desktops and laptops with a Windows operating system. Support for MacOS and Linux will be added later this year.

BlockMint develops distributed systems and networks that enable a more decentralized deployment of blockchain-based applications.

BlockMint Technologies (BKMT) is up 8.82 per cent and is currently trading at C$0.37 per share as of 1:00 pm ET.
