BlackBerry’s (BB) SecuSUITE has been accredited for official NATO secure communications.

SecuSUITE protects against eavesdropping threats to government and business communications through end-to-end encryption, including standard mobile and VoIP phones.

The approval was granted by the NATO Communications and Information Agency (NCI Agency).

The global NATO network can now extend SecuSUITE as a solution of choice for conducting secure messaging and voice calls.

“Security is imperative in times of peace and conflict, and we need to be confident that calls and messages sent within the NATO alliance remain completely confidential at all times,” stated Jean-Paul Massart, Chief of NATO’s Digital Workplace at NCI Agency. “BlackBerry SecuSUITE enables our teams to use their smartphones for secure, encrypted contact inside and outside of the network, whatever their location.”

“Recent world events have emphasized the importance of watertight communications security. Receiving NATO accreditation underlines NATO’s trust in our technology, and we’re honoured to continue our support for the organization’s work,” added Christoph Erdmann, SVP of Secusmart at BlackBerry.

BlackBerry provides intelligent security software and services to enterprises and governments around the world. The company secures more than 500 million endpoints, including over 215 million vehicles.

BlackBerry (BB) stock price closed up by 0.83 per cent, trading at $6.05 per share.
