BlackBerry Limited (BB) has provided an update on the pending sale of its non-core patent assets to Catapult IP Innovations for $600 million.

In Q4 of fiscal 2022, BlackBerry announced that it had signed a patent sale agreement with Catapult. Completion of the transaction is subject to the satisfaction of financing and other closing conditions. The sale is expected to close by the end of the first quarter of fiscal 2023.

Catapult continues to work on securing the required financing; however, due to the length of time that the transaction has taken, BlackBerry is exploring alternative options.

BlackBerry provides intelligent security software and services to enterprises and governments.

BlackBerry Limited (BB) opened trading at C$7.62.
