BioHarvest (BHSC) received a purchase order from Batory Foods for 1,000 kg of Vinia for delivery by the end of December 2022.

Batory Foods is a leading food ingredients distributor in the USA. It is one of the top three companies in the nutraceutical and food and beverage ingredient segments of the market. Batory is the exclusive B2B distributor of BioHarvest’s nutraceuticals and expected hemp based cannabis products in the US.

This purchase order also carries favorable financial terms for BioHarvest, reflecting higher B2B wholesale price of vinia in the market. This shows the willingness of end customers to pay higher price for vinia when utilizing it as a key ingredient in their respective products.

Major US brands are now using Vinia to design and test multiple products such as coffee, tea, yogurt, nutrition bars, and nutritional beverages.

Ilan Sobel, CEO of BHSC, commented on the news.

“This latest purchase order is just the beginning of what is a mutually beneficial long-term relationship. We look forward to partnering with Batory on our journey for vinia to be included as a strategic ingredient in major brands in the nutraceutical, and food & beverage industries. “

BioHarvest is the developer and owner of the proprietary and patent-protected bio-farming technology. The technology can grow the active and beneficial ingredients in fruit and plants, at an industrial scale, without the need to grow the plant itself.

The technology has been already validated by Vinia which is the red grapes cells functional food/dietary supplement produced and sold by BioHarvest. By adopting this technology to the Cannabis plant, and building adequate cells production capacity, the company’s objective is to be the supplier of cannabis for both medicinal and recreational legal use.

BioHarvest Sciences Inc. (BHSC) is up 6.25 per cent, trading at C$0.255 per share at 11:45 am ET.
