  • Beauce Gold Fields (BGF) has discovered visible gold on its south-Quebec mine, St Simon Les Mines
  • The three visible gold particles had a total weight of 0.55mg from a rock sample size of 145.6 kg
  • The particles were discovered while sampling an intersection of volcanic and sedimentary rock which runs along the property
  • The company CEO has stated that “[t]his gives weight to the theory that the fault zone could be the host of an ancient hydrothermal gold system”

Beauce Gold Fields (TSXV: BGF) has discovered visible gold particles at its St Simon Les Mines property in southern Quebec.

The volcanic rocks they sampled were heavily laden with rusty quartz veins and the resulting excavated trench exposed an important geological fault line that runs through the property.

The company sampled nine of the fourteen trenches it dug in an area where the volcanic rock meet sedimentary rock toward the southern end of the property.

One trench displayed the visible gold announced today. The three visible gold particles had a total weight of 0.55mg from a rock sample size of 145.6 kg.

Company CEO, Patrick Levasseur, is considering this latest result as evidence for a larger gold system.

“This is the first evidence associating bedrock gold with the main geological fault line […] This gives weight to the theory that the fault zone could be the host of an ancient hydrothermal gold system responsible for the concentration of gold in the rock.”

The property’s history pre-dates the famous Klondike Canadian Gold rush in the late 19th century and stretches back to 1860.

The company has stated that a series of much larger sampling operations will be required to achieve a better picture of the gold systems of St Simon Les Mines.

Beauce Gold Fields (BGF) was up 16 per cent, with shares currently trading for C$0.14
