Beauce Gold Fields (TSXV:BGF) has reported sonic drill results from its Ditton Gold Project near Chartierville, Quebec.
The Montreal-based gold exploration company said in a press release that all four holes drilled into the paleoplacer channel contained grains of gold.
In particular, hole F-22-10 was notable with 3.36 grams per cubic metre of tertiary placer gold at a depth of 15 metres from the Landry quarry floor.
“These positive results support our continued assessment of the possibility that we hold an economically viable placer gold deposit, as well as to look for signs that could lead to future discoveries of bedrock lode gold,” Patrick Levasseur, CEO of Beauce Gold Fields, said in a news release.

Drilling highlights include:
- the confirmation of gold anomaly in paleoplacer channel
- the placer channel is open to the south, east, southwest and northeast
- both tertiary and quaternary placer gold was identified
- holes drilled in the Landra and Blais gravel pits contained gold
Levasseur explained that the drill results, in combination with the company’s dredge and bulk sampling, are indicative that the Ditton placer gold channel could be a substantial deposit.
With its focus in the Beauce region of southern Quebec, the company’s focus is tracing old placer gold workings back to a bedrock source to uncover economic lode gold deposits.
Shares of Beauce Gold (BGF) are down 10 per cent to C$0.045 as of 12:14 p.m. ET.
