Astra Exploration (ASTR) has commenced trenching operations at the Pampa Paciencia Project.

The project, located in Northern Chile, was previously held by Sociedad Quimica y Minera de Chile S.A.

The company mobilized equipment and personnel to the Impaciencia Oeste area of the project last week to confirm and define newly discovered epithermal veins. Ground penetrating radar will be used to determine the thickness of caliche sediment in various areas of the project, and heavy equipment will be used to remove the caliche so that vein dimensions can be determined, and geochemistry sampled.

In Q4 2022, geologists discovered 2,000 metres of near-surface veins covered by thin sediment layer and surface float containing gold and silver with grades up to 5.33 grams per tonne gold equivalent. This new discovery is located on the western side of the project.

CEO Brian Miller said PampaPaciencia is a large district, with known high gold grades and wide veins that has hardly been explored as evidenced by the discovery of the new western veins.

“This trenching program will follow-up the new 2,000 metres of vein subcrop that we have identified in the west of the Paciencia District in late 2022. Trenching will initially target an area with 5.33g/t AuEq and then expand to add drill targets to the company’s inventory at Pampa Paciencia.”

Pampa Paciencia is a 38.4 sq. km., road-accessible low sulphidation epithermal (LSE) gold-silver project located within an active mining district less than 15 kilometres from two major mines (Sierra Gorda and Spence) and five kilometres from the Faride LSE mine.

Astra’s shares are also now listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange under the symbol “S3I”.

Astra Exploration Inc. is an exploration company based out of Vancouver, BC, engaged in the acquisition, exploration, and development of epithermal gold-silver properties in Chile and is building a portfolio of high-quality projects.

Astra Exploration Inc. (ASTR) opened trading at $0.16 per share.
