  • New assays from American Eagle Gold’s (AE) NAK project in British Columbia defined multiple mineralized copper-gold zones
  • The company found several systems, including a large near-surface zone, continuous zones at depth, and high-grade bornite veins
  • Results seen so far will be used to direct drilling towards more extensive high-grade zones within the known mineralized footprint
  • It will begin follow-up work this year by infilling, expanding, and defining the zones of higher-grade mineralization in holes NAK22-01, -02 and -04

New assays from American Eagle Gold’s (AE) NAK project in British Columbia defined multiple mineralized copper-gold zones.

The company’s 2022 drill program on the project found several systems, including a large near-surface zone, continuous zones at depth, and high-grade bornite veins. The results seen so far will be used to direct drilling towards more extensive high-grade zones within the known mineralized footprint.

Holes AK22-01 to -07 were highlighted by the company as all of them returned consistent mineralization with values as high as 1.05 per cent copper equivalent.

Anthony Moreau, AE’s CEO, commented,

“2022’s program was an aggressive step-out program… We achieved a 100 per cent success rate on hitting high-grade zones and widespread disseminated material, demonstrating that NAK hosts a very large porphyry system.”

2023’s drilling will be focused on further delineating the near-surface high-grade zones to show additional continuity and directing to the potential source of the high-grade bornite mineralized dykes tested last year.

AE’s next steps are already underway

AE is currently creating a model from its drill results to design a follow-up drill program for this year It will begin by stepping out from an infill between drill collars, expanding, and defining the zones of higher-grade mineralization intercepted in holes NAK22-01, -02 and -04.

One of the major milestones the company’s 2022 drill program made was that it showed the project’s south zone remains open to expansion where mineralization begins at surface.

Additionally, last year’s drilling in 2022 was also successful in relating the characteristics of previous surveys to styles of mineralization and alteration at depth. According to the company, this relation suggests that there is significant expansion potential east and west of drilled fence of holes. Data also indicates the southern and western margins of the main Babine intrusive stock represent excellent target areas.

American Eagle Gold (AE) is down 40.00 per cent, trading at $0.10 per share as of 11:13 a.m. EST.
