Altiplano Metals (APN) reported August 2022 operating results from its Farellon copper-gold (Cu-Au) mine near La Serena, Chile.

5,000 tonnes of mineralized copper-gold material were produced at Farellon in August, with 3,227 tonnes shipped and processed. Production at Farellon achieved the maximum output as the operations begin transitioning from sales to Empresa Nacional Minera (ENAMI) to the processing at El Peñón. This production represents a 20.2 per cent increase over July, while August processing at 3,227 tonnes increased by 93 per cent over July’s of 1,667 tonnes.

August’s copper grade came in at 2.01 per cent copper, an 18.9 per cent improvement over July’s 1.69 per cent. Increased production and grades generated the highest amount of copper sales from Farellon in August at 62030 kg, representing a more than 44 per cent increase over the 2022 monthly average of 4300 pounds.

US$313,000 in revenue was generated in August after processing costs, a 109 per cent improvement over July’s US$149,579 revenue. At August month end, an additional 1,900 tonnes were stockpiled at the site, with 2,136 tonnes in process at ENAMI.

The company’s President and CEO, Alastair McIntyre, commented that Farellon continues to demonstrate impressive results as the team ramps up to full production to support its commissioned processing plant at El Peñón.

“Record total copper pounds were sold in August, representing another important milestone as we complete the commissioning of the El Peñón processing facility.”

Mining is expected to commence in November.
