Altamira Gold Corp. (ALTA) released the gold assay results for five holes done on the Maria Bonita target at its Cajueiro Project in Brazil.

Holes MBA005 and MBA007 intersected trace amounts of gold mineralization. MBA005 saw gold close to the surface in rocks identical to previously drilled mineralized holes in the area.

These two holes extended the area with known gold mineralization by at least 120 metres to the east of the original holes MBA001 to MBA004. The system remains open in several directions.

CEO of Altamira Gold, Mike Bennett, commented,

“Whilst the mineralized system remains open in several directions, the initial drill results indicate consistent gold values over broad intervals. The size of the gold-in-soil geochemical anomaly means that additional drilling will be required to determine the size of the mineralized system.”

The Cajueiro Project is approximately 75 kilometres northwest of the town of Alta Floresta in the state of Mato Grosso in west-central Brazil. It is easily accessible by road and has grid power, and forms one of three key projects that Altamira controls in the region.

Altamira Gold Corp. (ALTA) is down 8.70 per cent trading at $0.21 per share as of 12:45 p.m. EST.
