Air Canada (AC) and Emirates have partnered to create more options for their customer bases.

Emirates is an award-winning global airline that serves over 130 cities on six continents through its hub in Dubai.

The airlines intend to establish a codeshare relationship later in 2022 with enhanced consumer choices for Air Canada customers to visit the UAE, including Dubai and beyond. Emirates customers will also enjoy increased optionality when travelling to Toronto and other destinations in the Air Canada network.

Additions include booking connecting flights between both airlines on a single ticket, reciprocal frequent flyer benefits, reciprocal lounge access, and connectivity through their global hubs.

“As we continue pursuing our strategy of expanding our global reach in response to growing opportunities in VFR markets (Visiting Friends and Relatives) that serve Canada’s large multicultural communities, we are very pleased to form a strategic partnership with Emirates,” stated Michael Rousseau, President and CEO of Air Canada.

“We are pleased to partner with Air Canada, one of North America’s most established airlines and Canada’s flag carrier and we look forward to jointly progressing on various areas to provide even better customer flight choices and experiences,” added Sir Tim Clark, President of Emirates.

Air Canada is Canada’s largest airline. It provides scheduled passenger service to 51 airports in Canada, 51 in the U.S. and 86 internationally.

Air Canada (AC) is up by 1 per cent trading at $16.11 per share as of 9:31 am EST.
