Affinor Growers (AFI) is enrolling in the CanadaGAP food safety certification program.

The program allows companies dealing in fresh fruits and vegetables, to demonstrate they are following appropriate food safety guidelines.

The British Columbia company continues to focus on its currently-growing crop of strawberries.

It is also in the process of branching out to markets beyond Metro Vancouver.

Affinor is continuing the permitting process for its new greenhouse that will be used for growing strawberries, romaine lettuce, kale, and spinach in soil or hydroponic at 8 levels.

The new greenhouse will double its growing capacity.

“It’s nice to see the years of vision finally sitting right in front of us. It’s an honour for Me and My management team to make this a reality for all Affinorians. CanadaGAP is a final phase that opens all mainstream retailers with the highest regulatory food safe policy,” said Affinor CEO Nick Brusatore.

Affinor Growers is up 16.67 percent, trading at $0.035 at 10:34 a.m. ET.
