4Front Ventures (CSE:FFNT) has announced that two of its key executives have been scheduled to present at the SXSW Conference in March.

The company’s CEO, Josh Rosen, and President, Kris Kane, will both speak during the conference’s ‘Cannabusiness’ segment.

Kris Kane, who co-founded 4Front Ventures in 2011, will present an individual talk called “Frenemies: Cannabis Activists & Cannabis Industry”.

With previous involvements from both regulatory reform and corporate perspectives, Mr. Kane will look at how the relationship between activists and the cannabis industry is sometimes strained.

He will also touch on how the two parties can support each other, and why the cannabis sector has an obligation to support the drug-policy-reform movement.

“Finding mainstream avenues to educate and share information have always been critical factors to the advancement of the legal cannabis industry,” he said.

“For decades, activists and entrepreneurs have recognized the potential of cannabis to reshape how we grow economically and societally; we are now seeing the fruits of that labor in the rise and excitement surrounding the space.”

Mr. Kane’s presentation will take place on March 18 at 11:00 am CT at the Hilton Austin Downtown.

Later in the week, Josh Rosen will participate in a panel discussion on consumer and consumption trends.

The conversation is expected to look at the rise in vape culture, diversification of cannabis products, and the future of consumption habits.

“SXSW is one of the premier cultural and technological showcases in the world and its embrace of the future of cannabis signals another step forward for the industry,” said Mr. Rosen.

“Kris and I are excited to have the opportunity to share our knowledge and experience with this audience.”

The discussion is scheduled for March 21 at 2:00 pm CT, also at the Hilton Austin Downtown.

Since it began in 1987, SXSW has grown to become one of the most prominent cultural showcases in the world.

Held annually in Austin, Texas, it comprises film, music and media festivals, as well as a wide range of conferences.

SXSW 2019 saw a total attendance of more than 417,000 people.

Shares in 4Front Ventures are currently trading at C$0.57, with a market cap of C$71.65 million.
